What career goals are currently working on?
If you follow my podcast, you know we focus on the importance of setting career goals. You also know it's not enough to set a goal, but you must put an action plan in place to make it a reality.
Here are a few things to consider:
- What is your goal and why is it your goal? Far too often we are following a dream someone else has crafted for us or we're pursuing a career path that isn't in alignment with our strengths and interests. Remember to ensure they're S.M.A.R.T. You've heard it 1,000 times, but lets' make it 1,001... Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Relevant. Time-based. Click here for more on S.M.A.R.T. goals.
- Where will you document your plan? I've used everything from spiral notebooks to Excel spreadsheets to physical planners. My preference now is a digital planner from Thissplanner coupled with this planner from Appointed. Check out some of my other favorites on my planner IG page - @kaybeeplans.
- Find an accountability partner. Teamwork really does make the dream work when it comes to achieving your career goals. You need someone in your corner who isn't afraid to call you out when you're slacking. Friends are great, but sometimes that person needs to be more of a coach than a buddy. Give it some thought and line up a partner.
